I liked the location and the price. I also liked the free parking and the pool and restaurant.
The location was very convenient, and the room was very comfortable and relaxing. The service was professional and very cordial and helpful.
We spent 3 days here and one of the days and evening was warm outside but the A/C had not been turned on yet and the room was very uncomfortable.
It was in a nice neighborhood
The room was not prepared when we arrived and we were told twice, once by a manager, we would be compensated for this but we were not. Because the room we were given in place of our intended room had only one bed, we required a roll-away bed, but the staff made us remove it from the supply closet ourselves and roll it into our own room, as well as change the sheets ourselves. The walls were thin, we couldn't sleep due to people partying all night. The wi-fi didn't work in our room and there was no ice in any of the ice machines and our bathroom light didn't work, and when we informed the staff they did nothing about this. As I said, we were told we would be compensated for the inconveniences, yet upon check-out we were compensated in no way. It was our worst hotel experience ever and we will never be returning.
The staff was very friendly. The rooms were really good (the airconditioner did not create a draft, which normally makes Europeans sick). The location was super, and I was very happy with my stay.
Very good hotel, friendly and able staff, great situation near the lake and a bike trail (excellent for jogging). Kind Shuttle drivers.
Can be noisy depending who is next to you.
Hotel is within walking distance of museum of science and industry and only about 10 minutes away from other popular attractions (Michigan Ave, Shedd Aquarium, Soldier Field, etc). It also offers a great view of the lakeshore, as it is directly across the street. The restaurant has great food for a good value.
The room was small and did not include a refrigerator or microwave which would aid in saving money for quick lunches and snacks.
Close to zoo, museum science and industry, aquarium and walking distance to lakeshore / beach. I was there for music festival, but close to other "frequent" stops. Staff was very nice and helpful.
Still not "great" part of town. Everything west is pretty bad, but if you stay to lakeshore drive and go north and south, not to bad. Older building, rooms and fixtures, but for 3 nights, $450 in Chicago.... I felt comfortable and safe.
The staff behind the counter in the lobby was excellent. They upgraded my room when checking my preferences without batting an eyelash. They were knowledgeable about the city and getting around to specific areas. They knew where to purchase a bus pass and where to catch the bus. The room was very nice and faced the lake. The location made it easy to walk to the lake and take a long fitness walk toward McCormick Place. There was always a space in the garage for my rental car. The staff was friendly and I felt they genuinely wanted to take care of me. Also, when the internet signal seemed weak, they were ready to transfer me to a comparable room, still facing the lake with a better reception. That's good business.
The ice machine was conveniently located outside my door, however it did not always work. Had to go down or up a floor to get ice. I left an iPad charger there by mistake and so far have not been contacted about it. It would be great if they contacted me to prove that they still care even after I have left. Also I'm into fitness and their fitness room is just bare minimum. Two treadmills, one elliptical, and one multi-workout weight machine. A Ramada of this stature could do more. But the best workout is across Lake Shore Drive by bike, jog or walk and the scenery is much better!
Great location for the University of Chicago and free parking. There is a good sized fridge and a small microwave in the room along with the coffee maker.
The rooms with the lake view have a lovely view- but- the noise from the road is a factor- we got used to it and loved our view.Make sure you are on the 4th floor if you choose a lake view.
I liked all the time I was away from my hotel.
We were promised a refrigerator in our room & never received it. The staff continued to tell us they would bring one up but did not. The pool was broken when we were there. The ice machine on our floor was broken. This is a very outdated hotel.
shuttle bus didnt pick us up even when we called a few times.
The location in relation to the Lake and to downtown Chicago was good. Also good was the free shuttle service to downtown 3 times each day. Staff were polite and helpful and the room was kept clean.
Only the fact that the pool was not available to use as it was under repair, and that there was nowhere to keep valuables because they had removed the safe boxes for some reason.
Our room was very comfortable and clean. The front desk employees were knowledgable about the area and helpful when it came to gettting downtown.
We checked out early (4am) and they were unable to print a recipt, in fact it is two days later and we are still waiting for it.
nice view of the lake. employes friendly and helpful on check in and check out.
Very good location. It's better to rent a car to stay here coz it has free parking lot. The room is big and reasonably clean. This is a great place to stay if u get a car. Very low price compared to others in Chicago.
The fridge is very loud, the TV is not even plugged when I entered the room. I had to fix these problem by myself, no big deal.
